‘We're all going on a summer holiday'……. as the song goes. However, in order to embark on our summer hols there are a few things we have to do beforehand. Some of us may find this a joyful process while others are less enthusiastic. One thing we do have to consider is what clothes we're going to need for our sunny escape. Clothes at this time of year might be light and airy but you do have to consider different outfits for different hours of the day and then try to fit them all into a small case or bag. Denim is a hot trend this summer from jackets to dresses. But if you want to take denim on holiday and be absolutely sure you're going to wear it, take a pair of denim shorts. Summer and denim shorts go hand in hand. Easy-to-wear and timeless, you can wear them in the morning over your swimsuit and for a night out with a chic top and strappy sandals. When you're on holiday, you don't want to spend time thinking about what you're going to wear. When you're on holiday, you want to spend your time enjoying yourself and relaxing. That's why the jumpsuit is the perfect go-to piece when you find yourself unsure what to wear! The jumpsuit is a put on and go kind of garment. Just make sure you choose the right one for your body shape. Of course, opting for light and airy fabrics is a given.

Printed midi skirts are a really popular choice this summer and an absolute essential summer holiday piece.  Prints range from cute to retro and include anything from polka dots to feminine florals so it's up to you to decide what suits your style. If you're anything like me, the bolder the better! Pair with a simple top for a morning shopping and jazz it up with something a little extra special for a night on the town!

Kimono Crazy

The kimono is another no-brainer. We've talked about the kimono in more depth in another blog. But the overriding characteristic of the kimono, especially for the summer months, is that it's easy to wear. Made in light cool fabrics such as linen and cotton and lace the ideal kimono for your summer holidays is one that falls to the hips. You can wear it as a beach cover-up as well as a light jacket for evenings out over a dress or shorts.

Mini Break

Okay so we went maxi, now let's go mini. A mini dress will lend a soupcon of sexy to your summer style. Go for a relaxed style for morning wear that can be cinched at the waist for an evening out. Avoid heels and opt for flat strappy sandals or mules to keep the relaxed summer vibe alive.

Pure White

As simple as it may sound, another essential item for your summer holiday is the white top. A simple sleeveless white top is the ideal piece to go with all of your outfits especially for those morning and evening hours. It will show off your tan too!

Black Top

As much as a white top is a summer essential, so is the black top when it comes to holiday outfits. The black top is ideal for pairing with prints and your denim shorts. Keep it simple and opt for a crop black top with a low back if it suits your style. Black is flattering for most of us; even moreso when our body is bronzed.
