Just because you have to stay at home during these trying times, it doesn't mean you should forget about your appearance. Looking good can have a positive effect on your mood too so it's not simply superficial. This doesn't mean you can't be comfortable too. Some of us prefer to wear tracksuits while others prefer pyjamas - either is fine as long as you feel good.
So let's have a look at some ideas of how to be comfy cosy at home without compromising on style - you never know who might ring your bell albeit maintaining a safe distance!!!
Lovin' the Leggin's
Leggings are a firm favourite when it comes to home wear. Leggings can also hide a multitude of sins - we're all guilty of a bag of crisps or a packet of biscuits too many over the lockdowns! Wear an oversized top or a long cardy for a stylish finish.
You don't necessarily have to go for cotton leggings although they do tend to be the most comfortable. Leggings are ideal whatever you have planned for the day be it chores or simply watching your favourite subscription channel.
If it's chilly out there, put on some snuggly socks and fluffy slippers for the ultimate cosy finish.
Work it Out
When it comes to exercising, don't forget your appearance as this will help you get into your fitness routine too. So, if you usually go to the gym or go out jogging, wear the clothes you would do normally.
Tracksuits are the tried and tested gym wear we all know and love. They are comfortable and will look good at home too. Whether you go for the classic matching trackie or prefer trendy baggy bottoms with a jacket top, you'll look good either way.
If you're not a fan of the tracksuit, you could simply wear a pair of leggings with a hoody, sweatshirt or a basic top. Tie up your trainers and you're ready for your daily workout!
Phew, It's Hot Out There!
You can still wear a tracksuit even on those warmer days of the year. All you need to do is wear something cool and trendy on top such as a crop or strappy top or a loose fitting tee.
Put your hair up either in a loose ponytail or top knot and you're ready to go…..into your garden or verandah!
Shorts & Sweet
Again when the weather starts to warm up, shorts are another great choice to wear at home. Cool and stylish and, if you go for hotpants, sexy too!
Shorts can also be part of your fitness style as well as throughout the day.
Pillow Talk
If you love down time and a lie-in is your idea of heaven, then pyjamas are probably your ideal home wear. Now, with so many days at home, it's time to make the most of your jimjams.
Wear your favourite pair - sexy, cosy, chic - the choice is yours and enjoy a day of cocooning in all its glory. Give yourself a beauty makeover and slather on the facemask and take care of your nails with a manicure and pedicure. You'll feel so much better for it.
Dress to Kill
Dresses are another option for stay-at-home wear and so feminine too. The beauty of the dress is the sheer simplicity - put on a dress and you're dressed!
When it comes to lengths you're spoilt for choice and the array of styles is endless. From boho to fitted chic to sexy, there's sure to be style that will float your boat.
Laid Back
If you're a lover of vintage style, boho is probably the way to go. Loose fit distressed jeans and tops tied at the waist is an ideal outfit for a girl at home - easy to wear and stylish too. Wrap your hair carelessly in a scarf and lend an effortless look to your home style.
Denim Delight
Most of us love our jeans and being at home doesn't mean we can't still wear them around the house and create stylish ensembles. Loose fit jeans with a classy oversized jumper in luxe fabric will keep you looking relaxed yet sassy.
Dungaree Days
Dungarees are another easy option for stay-at-home style. Denim is our favourite but classic blue can be replaced with a variety of hues to brighten up your day. Red is a striking choice but that's for you to decide. Pair with a basic tee, a polo neck or a cosy sweater and you'll be comfy and cute for whatever the day may throw your way.
Sweater Dress
Comfy cosy is the oversized sweater which you would normally wear over your leggings. Why not try wearing it as a dress? This way you'll lend a relaxed sexy accent to your home wear.
His Shirt
Another seductive yet effortlessly relaxed choice is the boyfriend shirt. Oversized and sexy, the buttons are yours for the fastening……or unfastening!
Home Work
Now, some of us don't just have chores, exercise and subscription channels to keep us busy throughout the day. Some of us have to work. The home environment, however, isn't always the most conducive to an office mindset. So, one way to remedy this is to dress, almost, as if you were going to work. I say ‘almost' as you'll probably want to avoid the heels and slip on your slippers - this will maintain an element of comfort. By dressing for work, you will help yourself prepare mentally and, as a result, be more productive. Besides, there is always the chance that you will have to be present for a zoom meeting and you will want to look as professional as possible even if your fluffy flip-flops tell a different story!
